Wow another Sunny warm day two on the trot looks like we are having a nice little spell of summer at last. Today we visited my Mum and took her a hanging basket for her balcony and as they use to say on Blue Peter, "Here's one we made earlier". In fact we made it two weeks ago and forgot to take it , but with all the rain in England of late it survived and is blooming nicely. While we were over at Mums we took the opportunity to visit that side of the City and headed out towards Bubbenhall, Coventry Airport and eventually ended up at Stoneliegh which is home to the Royal Show that will be taking place at the NAC show ground in a few weeks time. We had a leisurely walk round the village and followed the River Sowe to its mouth with the Avon. We came across lots of blue damsel flies hovering around which I find beautiful and fascinating insects. Saw a few fish swimming in the river. There was lots of long grass for Spritz to play in and small woods to stroll through. We had a little drive down to Stoneleigh Abbey which is a fine country house. The abbey was founded in 1154 by a group of Cisterian Monks. The house looked interesting but unfortunately the house is closed on a Saturday so will have to go back another day. We had a little walk round part of it's grounds which was good and worth further investigation at another time. Well that's about it for Saturday just about to get the map and look for somewhere to go Sunday.
